| | Welcome to Scouting As a parent, you want your son to grow up to be a self-reliant, dependable and caring individual. Scouting has these same goals in mind for him. Since 1910, we have been weaving lifetime values into fun and educational activities, designed to assist parents in strengthening character, good citizenship, and physical fitness in youth.
Scouting teaches family values... We know that boys do not join Scouting just to get character built. Boys join because it is fun.
It's never too late to join Cub Scouts If you are in Kindergarden or higher, you too can be part of Cub Scout Pack 91. Our annual Fall Scouting Rally will soon be taking place. During this Rally, you will get the chance to talk with Cub Scouts as well as Leaders, and learn what Scouting has to offer in your community.
Our newest Scouts (who had joined in August) have already been welcomed into Pack 91. During the Summer, the Scouts have enjoyed many Summertime activities including Parades, Cub Scout Day Camps, a Fishing Derby, and much more.
![[Honor]](images/Honor.jpg) Search, Discover, Share (Tiger Cub Motto) Tiger Cubs, BSA, is a 1-year program for first-grade boys. Each boy participates with a parent (or another adult family member) in family-oriented activities.
The time you and your son spend in Tiger Cubs is meant to be fun, a chance to get to know one another better, and do things with your family as well as other members of the Tiger Cub group whom you see at meetings.
Do Your Best (Cub Scout Motto) In society, where your son is often taught that winning is everything, Cub Scouting teaches him to 'do his best' and be helpful to others as expressed in the Cub Scout Promise.
Cub Scouting is a home- and neighborhood-centered program designed to support family life for boys (2nd through 5th grades). Each Cub Scout learns to respect his home, Country, God, and other people.
A Cub Scout Den provides your son with a group of boys his own age in which he can earn awards and recognition. In the Den, he will also gain a sense of personal achievement for the new skills he learns.
Pack 91 Charter Pack 91 is chartered by Shepherd Of The Lakes Lutheran Church 285 Washington Street, Grayslake
Pack Meetings Pack Meetings and activities are held monthly at the Frederick Elementary School (Route 83, South of Washington Street) in Grayslake. Special events may be held at other locations. The Pack Meetings may include award ceremonies, Den Skits, guest speakers, activities or special outings.
The Pack Meetings are intended for the entire family. It is a time for all family members to get together, learn, and celebrate each other's accomplishments over the past month.
Pack Meetings occur during the entire calendar year. Although each Den may not meet during the Summer, we encourage each Scout family to attend the Pack events held during the Summer.
Fundraising Typically the Pack participates in a popcorn fund raising activity that is held each Fall. All boys are encouraged to participate but parents may choose otherwise.
Family Events The Pack may also participate in special 'Family Events' throughout the year. These extracurricular activities are not under the official Scouting Umbrella, but are rather an opportunity for Scouting families to enjoy some activities together. Past events have included: family camp-outs, local sporting events, or other field trips. Each Scout must be accompanied by a parent to participate in such 'Family Events'.
